Shawn Mendes Concert At Mizner Bringing Extra Security

BOCA RATON, FL ( — If not for the current state of world affairs, we’d say this item falls into the ‘write your own punchline category,” but sadly that’s not the case.

Shawn Mendes, a Canadian-born viral music sensation who sings songs that could be considered “uplifting” — or at the very least “positive” —  is performing at Mizner Amphiteater tonight (Friday). In conjunction with Boca Police, Mizner officials are telling all ticket holders to arrive early to go through extra security, including metal detectors.

Mizner, as most readers know, is an outdoor music venue at the end of a popular shopping and restaurant venue. While the net effect of metal detectors at such a venue is roughly nothing at all, we certainly appreciate that the appearance of added security is important and encourage anyone heading to the area tonight to add extra time to your plans.
