Boynton Seeks Pre-K Volunteers

BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Source: Boynton Beach) — The City of Boynton Beach Recreation and Parks Department is looking for pre-school program volunteers for its Small World program.   Volunteers must enjoy working with pre-school children, ages 3 and 4.  Volunteers will be responsible for assisting the instructor with the following:

 

  • Teaching the students basic identification of alphabets, numbers, shapes, sizes, beginning words, songs, simple arts/ crafts, etc.
  • Meet with instructor to discuss daily schedule
  • Pass out supplies/equipment for crafts and games
  • Assist students during lunch time
  • Prepare supplies for the next day
  • During activities make sure all students are on task/assist as needed
  • Help clean-up and break down after activities
  • Stack chairs and clean and disinfect tables daily
  • Monitor/assist instructor with students during restroom breaks
  • While on the bus/van make sure that all students are behaving

 

The Small World program for 3 * 4 year olds is located at Intracoastal Park, 2240 North Federal Highway, Boynton Beach.  The classes are held Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.  The program is designed to follow the schedule of the Palm Beach County school year calendar and city holidays.  This program runs year around and will end on May 31, 2016.
