West Boca High Band Invited To Perform In London

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (From PBSD) — Duncan Sandys, the Lord Mayor of Westminster, will visit West Boca Raton High School on Monday, May 11 to officially invite the school’s award-winning band to travel to England and perform in the London New Year’s Day 2016 Parade. The band is one of 12 American schools, and the first in Palm Beach County, invited to participate in the parade.

West Boca Raton High School’s 140-member Vanguard band will be officially invited to perform in the London New Year’s Day 2016 Parade when the Lord Mayor of Westminster visits. The band needs to raise $300,000 for the eight-day trip to England, and intends to fund the trip through community donations, business partnerships and small contributions from parents.

The band has set up a GoFundMe page for their trip, and is providing updates on the Vanguard Facebook page and on the band’s website, www.wbhsvanguard.org.
